# What is AutoMinter? Here you can upload the layer images that will make up your NFTs. As well as be able to configure thing like rarity and metadata. People must make an initial purchase known as "Minting". There are multiple ways that people can mint, including from the dedicated web pages provided by AutoMinter, or Buttons which you can add to your own website. {% content-ref url="/pages/3c3kc2xRwsmRqPS1wdS7" %} [How to Mint](/minting/how-to-mint) {% endcontent-ref %} {% content-ref url="/pages/0XCTzuUSX90y7Fm3obEG" %} [Gas Fees](/minting/gas-fees) {% endcontent-ref %} ## Whitelists AutoMinter Lists is a separate stand-alone tool for collecting wallets for early access to your NFT drops. You can use it to both create exclusivity and remove bots so you can ensure your NFTs are purchased by real humans. # Uploading Images ## The Basics Each NFT in our collection will be made up of different layers. For example each image may be made up of eyes, glasses, a hat, and different backgrounds. Each NFT is generated by combining a random combination of these layers, based on how rare we set each layer to be. ![](/files/X9ZcIh4bwyOfW5R5o6f0) ## Preparing images You can design image layers in any image editing app. The important thing is make sure that each layer is exported with a transparent background as a PNG. ### The right dimensions (up to 1200x1200) The recommended size for your image layers is 500x500 but you can choose anything up to 1200x1200 ## Similar images share a layer You should upload each image into AutoMinter into the same layer. For example all "Hats" should be uploaded to the same layer. You can reorder the layers by selecting "move up" or "move down" from the menu on the layer. ## Optional + Blank Images If you want an image to be optional within a layer, you should upload a transparent image of the same dimensions. This image will show up as invisible. # Rarity + Metadata You can adjust the rarity of each layer image. This affects how many of the layers will appear. The default values for rarity are based on fixed ratios. However you can manually enter a fixed number of times you would like a layer to appear in the collection. ![](/files/dn3IAplGKxTpOp40BUpP) You have two options when selecting rarity: ### Use default rarities Selecting "common", "uncommon", "rare", or "super rare" will result in fixed ratios of images within the same layer being generated. The ratios are based on the following: * Common = 100 * Uncommon = 40 * Rare = 20 * Super rare = 1 For example if you for every 40 "uncommon" images within a layer, there would be 100 "common" generated. ### Or generate specific quantities For the most control you can enter a specific quantity for the rarity. This means, that this exact number of images will occur in the generated collection. Be careful though, as you must make sure the numbers add up to the total number of images being generated. Otherwise AutoMinter will increase or reduce the excess amount. ![](/files/HtVfQQPmmMXu4XOX64tq) {% hint style="info" %} **Empty Layers**: If you would like an image to be optional, please upload an empty transparent PNG image {% endhint %} ### Mixing ratios and specific quantities Within the same layer you can have both preset ratios, and specific quantities. The specific quantities will take president. # Groups + 1/1s You can use AutoMinter to create groups add 1/1s in your collection. For example, you may want Men and Women to appear in your collection. And you may not want the traits to mix between them (e.g. beards only appear on men) ### Add unique NFTs to the collection 1/1s are individual NFTs which are not composed of layers, simply individual images to be added to the same collection. ### How to add groups Create groups in the collection editor. These are treated like separate generations and are combined into the same collection at the end. Later when you generate your artwork, you must specify the number to be generated from each group. ![](/files/sj25OrztSnZCPbRIBAn1) ![](/files/5FJmx1dw7AAMogQTRGnq) # Generating Artwork Once you've uploaded your image layers, you are now ready to generate your artwork Hit the "Generate Artwork" button and enter the number of NFTs you would like in your collection. Beware that if you want to generate a collection greater than 1000 images, you will need to wait a few hours. Smaller collections are much faster. {% hint style="info" %} Remember that if you entered custom image quantities in your collection. The total number of quantities in each layer should add up to the number of images generated. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} If you selected groups, you will have to add the number of NFTs that are generated for each group. If you have 2 groups with 500 art pieces each. Then 1000 pieces will be generated for the final collection. {% endhint %} # Deployment options Once you've generated the preview images for your collection, and are happy you can proceed to add your NFT collection to the blockchain. This permenantly adds your NFT to the blockchain. Press "Add to blockchain" #### Name of your collection The name of your colleciton is the name that will appear in marketplaces and on the minting website for your collection. This cannot be changed so make sure it is correct. #### Symbol The collection symbol is a short few characters which is sometimes used in some apps as a short hand name for your collection. Typically it would be 2-4 characters in length. #### Delayed Reveal If you choose "Delayed reveal" you must upload an image to be shown as a placeholder. Once people mint your NFT they will not see the NFT image right away. At a later point in time you can manually trigger a reveal. #### Mint Price This is the price you want to charge people by default to mint your NFT. This value can be changed later. You are also able to override custom pricing for each minter using whitelists later. #### Royalty This is the ammount you will earn on all future transactions when the NFTs are traded on marketplaces like opensea and looksrare. You are not able to change this value, so make sure you set it correctly. You may select a value from 0-10% **Mint Allocation** You can deploy contracts so that people can mint randomly. Or they can mint sequentially. There are a few key differences between these options.\ \ Random Mints: * The NFT on mint is decided randomly * Creators are able to airdrop specific NFTs * Gas costs more to mint * Minting more NFTs will cost more gas Sequential Mints: * Uses the new ERC721A contract * All mints are in a fixed order (0,1,2,3,4... etc.) * The gas price to mint multiple NFTs at once is the same as minting 1 * Much lower gas to mint * You can reserve NFTs allowing you to mint in batches * You are not able to airdrop a specific NFT (they in order) #### Network You may change the network you deploy too. Depending on the wallet you use, you may need to change this inside your wallet app. Please note, that in order to deploy to a specific network, you must have that network configured inside your crypto wallet. If you have trouble please join our discord or the support of your wallet provider. # Choosing a network Should you create an NFT collection on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum? That's a good question. Lets explore the differences between the two and why you might choose to use one over the other. ### What is Ethereum and Polygon? Ethereum and Polygon are both Ethereum compatible blockchains. You can create and sell NFTs on either of the networks. Polygon is a blockchain which is built on top of Ethereum and has much lower network fees (known as "Gas") Ethereum is the original blockchain NFTs and has a reputation for being more secure and battle tested. ### Ethereum NFTs are worth more The main advantage to Ethereum NFTs is that more people want to own NFTs on Ethereum, therefore they are worth more. ### Polygon is cheaper to deploy The main advantage to Polygon is that it is cheaper to use. So minting, creating your contract and trading doesn't have such high fees as the Ethereum Mainnet. ### Polygon is slightly harder to use Because polygon is a Layer 2 blockchain. It is harder for people to get funds on their wallet for polygon as they much use the Polygon bridge to do so. This barrier makes it harder to sell NFTs on polygon. # IPFS Syncing Once your NFT collection is deployed, your images will be synced with IPFS. This may take some time, and in some cases 24 hours for large collections. Please note you are able to mint NFTs right away, but until the IPFS sync is complete the images may not be visible right away in some apps. # Customize Mint Pages Once you have deployed your collection. People will be able to mint from your mint website or embeddable mint buttons. You may customise the mint website by: * Changing the background color * Changing the image on the screen to an animated gif or upload your own image * For even more customisation you can embed the mint widget in a custom website ![](/files/3RqLdacFtQFkpANAiBHl) # Sending Airdrops AutoMinter makes it easy to perform Airdrops, which enables you to give away NFTs for free! This means the receiver can acquire an NFT without having to pay any fees. This concept is great for promotions and rewarding active community members and contributors ## Send individual Airdrops Once your collection is created and added to the blockchain you can enter a token ID of the NFT you would like to airdrop along with the address of the wallet you would like to send the NFT too. {% hint style="warning" %} You will receive an error if you try to airdrop and NFT which has already been minted. {% endhint %} ## Bulk sending airdrops You are able to send bulk airdrops to multiple addresses at once. Please paste your addresses in the bulk airdrop form and ensure they are formatted correctly. # Delayed Reveal If you selected "Delayed reveal" when setting up your collection. You are able to reveal the artwork by pressing "Reveal" and confirming the transaction. ### How delayed reveal works When a collection has "delayed reveal". A placeholder image will be shown for every NFT. Once you have decided to reveal your artwork (typically some time after all the NFTs have been minted) you can reveal the artwork and metadata so that buyers will be able to see which NFTs they have. ### How do I reveal my artwork Press the "reveal" button on the manage your collection page. You must then confirm the transaction in your wallet so your collection can be updated on the blockchain. ![](/files/q6zFGwgSnivL639OE6mM) # Using a Whitelist AutoMinter uses gasless whitelisting, so that you are able to manage whitelists without paying gas. You are able to manage whitelists to determine who can mint. You are also able to set custom pricing per whitelisted wallet and custom limits for each to be able to mint ### Adding whitelist entries * You can enter whitelist addresses manually by adding them one at a time * You can upload a CSV file containing the list of addresses. You can download a sample csv file from the dashboard. You can create a csv file in any standard spreadsheet app (excel, google sheets, etc.) ### Custom price + limits per entry You are able to customise the price which each person can mint at. Please add a "mintFee" colum in your csv file. If you don't provide a mintFee, then the default price on the collection will be charged. You can also give each person a custom mint limit, which limits the number of NFTs they can mint. Add a "mintLimit" column to the csv file if you would like to do this. If you don't provide a mint limit, then the limit will be the default limit that was set on the collection. If you did not provide a mint limit for the collection there will be no limit. # Toggle public mint Turning on and off public mint determines whether any wallet from the public can mint. {% hint style="info" %} Note: that if public mint is turned off, whitelisted addresses are still able to mint. {% endhint %} # Add mint button to a website You can copy and paste the embeded code into a custom website to use a custom website for minting. # Changing mint fees You can change your mint fees at any time on the automitner project management dashboard ![](/files/gDQ5EPDV3c3A645FXVJU) # Reserve NFTs You can reserve NFTs. Allowing you to release the NFTs in batches, or restrict the supply. You can only do this if you selected "sequential" as the minting option. ![](/files/PJbDt5Cd4G2Bzs0p8shL) If you reserve NFTs these will not be available for minting. But you can later reduce the number of NFTs to make them available. It is possible to use reservations to burn un-minted supply # How to Mint The easiest way to mint from an AutoMinter collection is from the mint page provided in the dashboard. ## Minting from Mint Pages Users must have metamask installed, and an appropriate ETH balance. They must press "connect wallet" if they haven't already and proceed to "mint" ![](/files/AEJCqPOjQZ4QIOQJDwdy) ## Minting from Etherscan If you are minting without whitelisting, you are able to mint directly from etherscan on the contract. You can find your contract address from the Eterscan link in your AutoMinter dashboard. {% hint style="info" %} Please note that if you are whitelisted, and you want to mint from etherscan, you will need the signature for your whitelist spot. This is not recommended, and it is preferred to use the mint website or mint widgets for whitelisted wallets. {% endhint %} # Gas Fees Gas fees for mint vary wildly during the day based on overall network demand. If you see excessive gas fees when attempting to mint, it may be that your wallet has an error. Commonly occuring when you don't have enough funds in your wallet. Reduce gas fees when minting You can reduce gas fees when minting by selecting "sequential" when adding your project to the blockchain. This means the gas for minting multiple NFTs is the same as minting 1. # Troubleshooting If you are having problems minting from a collection on AutoMinter. Please consult this guide for assistance. ### The mint button is greyed out This occurs if you are unable to mint. It may be that the project creator has not made the collection "public" yet. Or you may not be added to the whitelist. If neither of these are the case, your wallet may be failing to connect to the RPC nodes on the network. Please refresh the page or try changing the PRC nodes in your wallet if this is the case ### Gas prices are over $10,000 This probably means there is an error attempting the transaction. Often when you don't have enough funds in your wallet # Mint On Custom Website Embed mint buttons on your custom website, so that people can mint on your website You do not have to use AutoMinters mint pages for people to mint your NFTs. If you want more control, you can embed the mint buttons into your own custom website. ### Add Mint button to a website To add a mint button to a website. There will be a preview image on the left, for viewing previews of your NFTs. Smaller collections are much faster. # Minting your NFTs ## Minting Basics Each of your NFTs must be Minted. This is the initial assignment of the NFTs in the collection to an owner. In AutoMinter, this initial assignment is done via "Minting Pages". These pages allow anyone with the link to make the initial purchase directly from you. By having the first purchaser mint the NFT, it means the cost of gas is paid by the initial minter. Rather than the contract owner (you) paying gas for every single NFT. This method also allows NFTs to be assigned randomly on chain. So that the minter does not know exactly what NFT they will receive. Only after each NFT is minted, can it be traded on OpenSea. # Random Mint Pages # Getting my collection on OpenSea Once individual NFTs in your collection have been minted they will automatically be available on OpenSea. To view your collection, you must simply sign into OpenSea and your collection will automatically be imported. ## Images not showing in OpenSea? If your images are not showing in OpenSea, it is likely for 2 reasons. Firstly you may still see a message in your collection showing that the images are syncing with IPFS. Secondly it takes some time for OpenSea to fetch and cache the images. This delay is not determined by AutoMinter so the duration may vary. # Performing Airdrops Give away free NFT's to peoples wallet address AutoMinter makes it easy to perform Airdrops, which enables you to give away NFTs for free! This means the receiver can acquire an NFT without having to pay any fees. This concept is great for promotions and rewarding active community members and contributors ## Send individual Airdrops Once your collection is created and added to the blockchain you can enter a token ID of the NFT you would like to airdrop along with the address of the wallet you would like to send the NFT too. {% hint style="warning" %} You will receive an error if you try to airdrop and NFT which has already been minted. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} **Bulk Airdrops**: Sending NFTs to multiple addresses at once is not yet supported. {% endhint %} # 1/1s and groups You can use AutoMinter to create groups add 1/1s in your collection. For example, you may want Robots and Apes to appear in your collection, but layers for Robots should not be mixed with ape layers.\ \ 1/1s are individual NFTs which are not composed of layers, simply individual images to be added to the same collection.\ \ To create these, you must create a group in the collection editor. These are treated as separate generations and are combined into the same collection. NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are digital items that exist on things called "Blockchains". NFTs have the unique property that they can be owned by any one persons wallet. And anyone in the world is able to verify and see who is listed as the owner of a specific digital asset. Popular applications include using NFT's for Art, for access passes, and membership passes. There are many applications of NFTs across many applications from gaming to finance. ## What is an NFT Collection? An NFT collection is a group of NFTs which are related. Such as a set of membership passes, or related pieces of ArtWork. An example of an NFT collections is the popular "Bored Ape Yacht Club" NFT collection. Anyone who owns own is granted access to an exclusive community and receives regular perks and rewards. ## If I own an NFT, do I own the ART? That depends. The NFT specifies an owner, who is then able to perform different actions based on the NFT. It can mean that you own the intellectual property to the NFT, but this depends on the license used by the creator of the collection. # What is Minting? Minting is the act of initially assigning an NFT to an owner.
